Ok folks - don't hate me for this one.
A Corporate decision was made to migrate away from our in-house Exchange 2010 (RTM) system to a cloud-based email/collaboration system (NOT Office 365).
The migration is complete, and I'm finishing up archiving our Public Folders. I need to come up with a plan for decommissioning our 4 Exchange servers:
2 - Hub/CAS role servers
2 - mailbox role servers
We never applied SP1 or SP2, so we're essentially still running RTM.
Do I uninstall the HUB/CAS servers first, then the mailbox servers? I know about having to remove the Public Folders database and all replicas before uninstalling the last mailbox server, and that there are at lest 2 hidden/system mailboxes I will need to worry about - is there anything else?
I haven't been able to find anything on the web about completely removing Exchange 2010. Since Exchange is so tightly integrated to AD, I want to make sure I do this properly.
Thanks in advance for any help.
