I'm running Exchange 5.5 SP4 on a Win2k Adv server that's Multihomed.

I've had this setup running for a year now without any troubles.
However lately no Internet mail is coming through. I can Telnet to
port 25 and "NSlookup" shows my MX and A records. But nevertheless
I can send mail out but none is coming in.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If XTC41.COM is your domain, then XTC41.XTC41.COM (129.21.129.3) is
your mail server. If all that's true, your server isn't accepting
connections on port 25.

If you can connect to that scocket from your LAN and notbody can
connect to it from the Internet, then I'd start by checking your
firewall.

Looks like you did some checking (as I never provided
the domain name or machine name)

Like a man that's through.

Anyhow I shutdown my firewall and tried Telneting from
my servers at work to port 25 and could not.

I monitored the packets on my Exchange server here and I can
see the server at work attempting to connect but the exchange server
does not respond.

The Plot Thickens

Thanks for you help.

I can Telnet to port 25 from my network but not externally with the
firewall disabled.

Sure you did. Well, at least the domain name. :)

From which side of the firewall did you try? The LAN side or the WAN
side?

If it's the Exchange server that's behind the firewall I'm not
surprised.

Currently running exchange 5.5 on NT4 SP6

I am unable to retrieve the email sitting in the internet mail service
account. It has been set-up to go to my mailbox and currently there is 25
messages that I can not retrieve.

I also tried pointing to the admin mailbox but unable to pull the email
through that account either.

What am I doing wrong?

Sherry
