Skip the bricks.

But I suppose it's worth asking anyway... How many mailboxes are you backing
up? You lose single instance store with Brick-level. Uses more tape, time,
etc.

If you skip brick-level backup, then how do you restore an individual
mailbox? You can't, can you?

You do not have to
See FAQ, App B at
http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm

And you still can restore single mailbox by restoring InfoStore to recovery
server.

If no lack there - get real newsreader software, point it to
msnews.microsoft.com to read and post your questions.

Skip the bricks. I gave up on it many moons ago. Read white papers on how to
recover both at MS site and other recommended Exchange friendly Web Sites.

No, many people have made them successfully. It is just generally held by
those in the know that Brick's just aren't that useful and thus unnecessary.
You won't get a lot of advice from experts on how to get them to work,
because they don't use them.

I've been having exactly this same problem - you need to apply Service
Pack2 for Advanced/Workgroup edition.

If you leave it at SP1 you may get a Dr.Watson error - this is
documented on the CA support site.

Have a look at :
http://support.cai.com/Download/patches/asitnt/LO80564.html

and also :
http://support.ca.com/Download/patches/arcserveitnt.html#agents

Good luck !!
