Can anyone help me with a problem with my Exchange + Proxy server?

Both my exchange server and my proxy server use a RAS connection to
connect to the internet. They both use a different channel on my ISDN
card, and a different connection in RAS. Now, as my Exchange server
collects its SMTP mail (IMC), the proxy server temporary stops for about
5 minutes. Can anyone tell me why this is, and how I can get rid of this
problem?

Your problem is the routing that NT is doing. The last RAS connection
gets to be the gateway with a metric of 1. This has nothing to do with
Exchange. If both connections are on the same network this is
especially problematic.

Try this MS KB article and see if it helps:
Q143168 "Routing IP Packets to Network Adapter Rather than RAS"
