I need some info on how to go about the following below.

One of my clients recently changed their exchange server. In doing that
their old exchange server objects were removed because it slowed exchange
down as the active directory was looking for it.

Now they need the server back, to retrieve the public folders, but the
problem is that nothin we do seems to create the objects needed to see the
server on exchange.

Can anyone please help.

Are you saying they removed Exchange server from the directory with
(something like) ADSIEDIT?

Open a support ticket with Microsoft PSS. You're going to need someone to
hold your hand.

Get the system state backup of the Schema Master and restore it into a
lab (Virtual PC/Server / VMWare etc). Do it far enough back to be less
than 90 days but longer than the removal of the server.
Then do a restore of the Exchange server into the same lab.

Option 2
Go to Quest or Ontrack and get their tools to open the native flat
files and then get the data out.

There are other options. 1will cost you time, lots. 2 will cost you
cash and it will be done in 20 minutes.
