I have exch 5.5 sp4 on WK2, I seem to be having issues
with attachments. I have been get getting complaints that
external clients are not recieving any attachments we are
talking pdf's doc's xls's. I tested this with a simple
word doco to a hotmail account and the attachment went out
but it was renamed to attach3 and doubled in size. I saved
this and renamed to .doc but it opened all garbled. I have
check the attachment MIME on the IMC connector all looks
fine, also the protocols and .DOC is there for the server.
Can anyone advise?
Thanx

The attachments are there, but the clients aren't smart enough to show
them. The problem is that you're sending the messages in RTF and the
server is sending the message formatting and attachment(s) encoded in
ms-tnef. Clients like Outlook Express don't know how to handle that
encoding so they don't show the attachment.
