I know that you can't synch to a public folder. Does anyone have an
alternative. Is there a way for a client to copy the Public folder calendar
to their calendar and have the server modify the clients calendar as it gets
modified on the public folder. does this make sense?

Do you mean use it offline? You can synchronize a public folder if you copy
it to your Favorites (under Public Folders). This just makes a shortcut to
it in essence. Then right-click on the folder and go to properties, and make
sure it is set to work online or offline.

Microsoft state catagorically that you cannot synch to a public folder (my
org. has 2 Phenom users that want to update to a public folder).
Unfortunately, I don't have the link, but if you type 'synchronise public
folders' into support.microsoft.com, you'll get to the link. They also then
have a recommended third-party piece of software to do this. My firm won't
pay, so the 2 people involved just copy the public folder to their contacts,
synchronise 1 way only (PC > Phenom), and keep changes/new contacts as notes
until they can add them directly when they're back in the office. Not a
perfect situation, I know, but it's simpler than getting a public folder
with a custom forms talking to a PDA.
