I'm trying to remove a corrupt public folder database so that I can
create a new one but I get the error below when I try to remove it
through the management console.

--------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Exchange Error
--------------------------------------------------------
The public folder database 'Public Folder Database' cannot be deleted.

Public Folder Database
Failed
Error:
Exchange is unable to check the public folder replicas for "FRPDCMAIL
\Second Storage Group\Public Folder Database". Verify the Microsoft
Information Store service is running on FRPDCMAIL.federal.lan, and
that the database is properly mounted.

MapiExceptionMdbOffline: Unable to determine if the store has local
replicas (hr=0x80004005, ec=1142)

I have tried to remove it through ADSIedit.msc but the cn=services
container isn't listed and I can't figure out why....

Any suggestions?

CN=Services is under the Configuration naming context, not that I'm
recommending that you pursue that route.

I would rename or delete the public database file and then mount the
database. Then you might be able to remove it.

Alright I got it straightened out, thanks for your help!

I deleted the database through ADSIedit and then was able to finish
removing that storage group and start fresh.
