I am new in this field. I Don't know whether i should Configured window POP3
server on WIndow 2003 server R2 or i should configured my pop3 in exchange
server on SBS 2003? or i can do same using exchange server
I will give u in details please Give me Proper advice bocz i will do as your
suggestion.
First of all , i will tell about my existing LAN.
1. Have three registerd domain name on internet by register.com which is
AUCGLOBAL.COM; IRAQIUC.COM; SAFICOSMETICS.COM
2 we don't have any email server or domain for that my company using
register.com email service.and one employe may have pop3 email account for
all Domain .For example user ritesh belong to
rit...@aucglobal.com;rit...@iraqiuc.com;
3. DSL internet connection having Dynamic Public IP address(Q.net is my
Internet Conn. provider)
4 . For creating any new email account we r creating on register.com.
Note:- Register.com is our Email service Provider.
What is our purpose:-
1. All emails account should be administred by our own server.
Now what i have Done:-
1 i have configured active directory on one SBS 2003 server and make domain
aucglobal.local.and also default exchange server. and create Active directory
and exchange mailbox for every one.
Why i need POP3?
1. Bcoz i can not create POP3 email account for my iraqiuc.com and
saficosmetics.com domain. bocz i don't have any Active Directory domain for
these two.i have only one domain which is aucglgobal.local.
2. Ms Outlook 2003/2007 allow only one Exchange server account to configured
in One profile. if i don't use POP3 where i will create my POP3 email. what i
will do my other email account.bocz one user has more than one email
account.which is created on register.com
3 Bcoz of my above two problem i decided to use one other window 2003 server
R2 and configured Window POP3 server on that bcoz it allow to create user and
mailbox for multiple domain. and exchange will allow to create Single SMTP
email accout in which its configured in my case for aucglobal.com not allow
for iraqiuc.com and saficpsmetics.com.
For thats why i want to use my exchange server for internal email system and
pop3 for external emails. for that i want to make my exchange server as
outgoing SMTP server for my POP3 server.
Now i explain you my all company needs,if you can suggest me what should
idon't need to do and how to configured my LAN to completed my pneed i will
follow you its not necessary that what i did.But my main purpose is to keep
same system as regsiter.com is giving rightnow , but using my own server. i
doesn't matter its thorugh exchange or POP3.
So please Give me ur adivce .
Your adive is very valuable for me.
Thanks!

If you installed the IIS POP3 service on the same server, then you must stop
and disable it or else you'll have a port conflict with Exchange. Better,
you could remove it.
The only relationship between an Active Directory domain and Exchange is
that the AD domain name is the one Exchange uses by default as the e-mail
domain when it is first installed. You can add as many e-mail domains into
recipient policies and recipient addresses as you need without building
additional Active Directory domains. There is still no need to use POP3 in
this situation.

Using Outlook MAPI it is true that you can open just one mailbox as the
primary, but you can open multiples as secondary mailboxes and use all of
them simultaneously. Or you can apply multiple SMTP addresses with multiple
domains to the same mailbox, but the limitation there is that Exchange will
only send as the primary SMTP address unless you acquire a third-party
add-on product. With multiple mailboxes, users who have rights can send as
any of them by using the From: field in an Outlook new message.

I don't understand this point.

I strongly recommend that you acquire and read Tony Redmond's and/or Jim
McBee's books on Exchange so you have a better understanding of how the
product works before you make any more misinformed decisions based on poor
assumptions.
