I personally think its better to type the domain\user so that it's a little
more secure as exploiters on the web would need to know the domain and the
user id before even attempting to guess a password. But management rules
sometimes and they would like to have that.
So does anyone have a document that details on how I can accomplish this?
IIS Admin > Web Sites > Default Web Site | Properties
Select the Directory Security tab
Select Edit under "Authentication and access control"
In the default domain box, either type in the NetBIOS domain name or click
Select and choose it.
Alternatively (if simplicity is the key), if their UPN is the same as their
email address (the default email policy is user...@domain.com), you can
enable UPN logons by following the information in the article at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=267906, "How to set up OWA for UPN logon
names."
