I have been using Outlook 2000 & Exchange 5.5 for a small group of
users. Exchange/Outlook is configured to store the data on the Exchange
Server hard drive (centralized for management & backup). I am now ready
to add all my users. The problem is, some of the users are sales people
or customer service reps who are on the road. How do these users get a
copy of their contacts & other data onto their notebook (when they are
in the office, they connect to the network via a docking station) so
that they have this info? In addition, if they add a contact or make a
change to a contact or other data, how is this updated back to the
server? They will be able to dial in thru RAS, connect in via the
internet, or do the updating the next time they log on using the docking
station.

Thank you,

Use an Offline folder file (OST) and synchronize.

By synchronizing the OST file.

That depends on whether or not you have a RAS server installed and
configured correctly and have either set up VPN or punched a bunch o
holes in your firewall.
