My manager has asked me to see if its possible to disable the BCC
functionality. We are running Exchange 2003 in mixed mode and use a
variety of email clients - Outlook 2003, OWA, POP3, IMAP and Mac
clients.

Does anyone know if this be disabled from the server or GP. I know it
is possible to hide the button and menu from Outlook and OWA.

Thanks,
Richard

There's still Outlook Express. You'd need to also make sure that you
prevented POP & IMAP access.
Then of course you'd just end up with people sending smtp mail in from
home addresses.
Whay is it you want to stop BCC?

Hi Richard,

Thanks for your post.

Based on my knowledge, it seems impossible to disable the BCC function in
Exchange server, as the BCC field is an RFC-defined field in email
messages. One possible alternative is to suppress the display of the BCC
field on the client, but this would take some doing. I

Hope this helps! Have a nice day!

Thanks & Regards

Go to Active Directory for Users & Computers,
go to your Domain's group policy and edit it.

User Config >> Administrative Templates >> microsoft outlook 2000 >>
Disable items in user interface >> Predefined >> POLICY "disable command
bar buttons and menu items"

Then change the policy and enable everything but BCC field.
