Exchange Through VPN

dear all ..
i have an exchange server 2000 ,, and its working probably for the local and
the pop3 users ,, i am trying to let the another branch in my company to
connect to my exchange server from thier location through a VPN connection
which is suposed to let then send and recive and use the Globale Adress book
exactly as the local users ,,, the other branch can see the exchange server
they also can configure it on thier MS OUTLOOK ,, the problem is that when
they open the MS Outlook it askes for the User , Password , Domain (they
supply it and its not working)

Few Questions...

1. Does the VPN login account match the mailbox they are
trying to open?

2. Have you selected the 'Include Windows Logon Domain'
option in the VPN client config?

3. Is the ISA server on the same domain the exchange
server is on?

It's more likely to be number (2) IMO.

What error are they getting?
Can you verify if RPC connectivity is working by using RPCPING as described
in http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;167260 ?
Can they use OWA to access their mailbox successfully?
