Hi

We were Dismount a store in System Manager, system manager crashed whilst
doing this.

After about 10 minutes we ended the System Manger Task in the Task Manager.

Following re-opening System Manager it appeared that the Store was offline,
we went to take the other store offline and received the message
"information store is busy", so we attempted to Mount the store that we had
Dismounted, same error. We repeated these tests for about 15 mins.

Finally we attempted to stop the Information Store service, It did not
respond in a timely fashion and is now in the Stopping state.

I have not yet tried rebooting as we have a few users working at the moment.

What is my best next steps?

Thanks
B

Kill the store.exe process and then restart it. Or reboot the server.
Either way you're going to annoy someone.

You've probably resolved it by now, but in the future, if you have a
service in a "Stopping" state and you can't end the process, you can use
a utility from Sysinternals called "PSKill".
