I have been trying to resolve our issue with our outgoing emials. Qwest.net
our ISP provider changed how our outgoing emails are to be sent and as a
result we have not been able to send any emails out. We can get emails in
without any issues. We use SBS2003 which has exchange for email. Qwest.net
changed to
qwestoffice.net and the instructions which we were provided were
the following: incoming (POP) mail server:
pop.qwestoffice.net; outgoing
(SMTP) mail server:
smtp.qwestoffice.net. The option "My out outgoing SMTP
server requires authentication must be enable", Under outgoing mail server
(advanced tab), check the checkbox "This server requres a secure connection
(SSL) on port 465. I changed the SBS2003 internet connection page for both
the POP and SMTP addresses as stated in the instructions. I could not find
how to change the requirements for SSL on port 465. Additionaly the
instructions seemed to apply for users of Outlook and not SBS2003. I also
called Qwest and was told that this issue was beyond them. I have tried to
send test messages to an email address outside of the office and the messages
return with the message:
"Reporting-MTA: dns;
qwestoffice.netFinal-Recipient:
rfc822;ne...@opencominc.comAction: delayed
Status: 4.4.7
I am not sure whether it is being rejected by Qwestoffice or not going out
of our server. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
