We have 4 Exchange 2000 mail servers and one front-end
server. When everything was still running fine, we had
W2KSP2 + Ex2kSP2 SP level on all servers.
Problems started when all Domain controllers and Exchange
servers were promoted from W2KSP2 to W2KSP3. Some users
reported that when they tried to send message to
recipient whose mailbox located on another mail server,
sender got a message "mailbox full" and mail is not
delivered. This does not happen on every occasion, but
there are at least a dozen times a day this happens. The
error message is:
The message could not be delivered because the
recipient's mailbox is full. <server.domain.com #4.2.2
smtp;452 4.2.2. Mailbox full>
All mailboxes are well below set limits.
There were suggestions to promote Exchange SP2 to SP3.
This was completed but it did not help, behavior is not
changed. Error message is the same: 4.2.2. Mailbox full,
even though Exchange SP was updated. According to
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-
us;q284204
it should be 5.2.2. when SP3 is updated.
There is one event in Application log on every mail
server that might be involved with this problem:
Source: MSExchangeTransport
Category: Routing Engine/Service
Event ID: 951
Type: Warning
Description: When sending mail to the following address
*.16C64F0B-F6D8-6D4D-8CAC-EACB4EA1C9B8, we have found
the connector with target domain *.16C64F0B-F6D8-6D4D-
8CAC-EACB4EA1C9B8 matching destination address exists in
DS. However, there is no way of getting there. Possibly,
you need to check your topology and add appropriate
connectors among Routing Groups.
Has anyone had this same problem or an idea what to do?
