so far the only way round this is to retreive the mail
from the internet manually [thru our webmail] and delete
it from there, otherwise all our mail gets blocked until i
clear it.
my boss is not remotely interested in this matter & it
bugging me, as i cannot fond a solution/explanation for
this.
ps. my exchange knowledge is not that advanced, but if
someone could point me in the right direction i could then
take it back to my boss with a better idea of whats
happenning,
any ideas?
thanks a lot guys

Assuming this is Exchange 5.5, turn on SMTP Protocol Logging on the
Diagnostics Logging tab of the IMS property page. Then restart the
IMS.
Now run the POP3-to-SMTP kludge and find the defective "MAIL FROM"
command. Either your kludge is defective (no big surprise there) or
the RFC822/2822 "From" header in the message is malformed -- and
that's what the kludge is using to create the "MAIL FROM" command.
