I have some clients who (intermittently) cannot receive email from an
external client. I've been trying to figure this out and cannot. Sometimes
the email comes in fine, sometimes it does not. When it is kicked back, the
sender receives an error message that says "Diagnostic-code: smtp;554 5.6.1
Body type not supported by Remote Host." I am still looking for the answer,
but does anyone know what I can do to correct this? Thanks in advance...

Susan

Looks as if specific remote client is sending something not understood by
the Exchange IMC.
Try to set the diagnostic logging to max. for the IMC and examine the Event
logs when this happends again. Maybe something more specific may be logged
there.

Ray.

yes, I'm going to try that - next time this outside person sends an email
into us, she's going to call me first, so I can do just that, but this is
so odd - she said all she is doing is copying and pasting from another email
she received to send to my users...
