This is a brand-new install of SBS2008 with Exchange 2007. I'm having an odd
little problem getting access denied error messages when the system is
writing to the message tracking logs. After the install, I moved the
Exchange databases and logs, including the message tracking logs, to the D:
partition rather than leaving them in the SBS standard location on C:. I'm
guessing that maybe there are some NTFS permissions to that location that
are missing, but I can't seem to find any info on what permissions are
required. On the log folder location, the built-in Administrator and System
accounts both have Full Control permissions. What am I missing?

Here is the exact info on the error message:

Log Name: Application
Source: MSExchange Common
Date: 8/10/2009 4:26:04 PM
Event ID: 6004
Task Category: Logging
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: CHROME.raynardpeirce.com
Description:
MessageTrackingLogs: Failed to write logs because of the error: Access to
the path 'D:\Program Files\Exchange Server\Message Tracking Logs' is
denied..

Thanks for any help!

Probably the NETWORK SERVICE built-in account. Why not check the
permissions on the original directory?
