Does anyone know something about this failure? Our provider told us that our
server has this problem so they cannot manage our mails.
Our provider send us this URL http://cr.yp.to/docs/smtplf.html but there is
no solution for Exchange 2003.

Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,

Herbert Utner

I've never heard of Exchange having this problem. Just a thought, do you
have a firewall or other appliance "sanitizing" your outbound e-mail?

Dear Mr. Crowley,

thank you for the urgent answer.

Outgoing mails are only scanned by our virus scanner (F-Secure).

Our problem in detail:
Since about 10 days we have a problem with some emails.
Every emails we send to an specific domain (only emails to ONE domain)
didn't receive by the receipient.
All emails send to e.g. gmail.com, gmx.net, .... or other domains are
delivered successfully.
So we didn't find a problem, because Exchange deliveres the mails correctly
(shown in log files).... but the emails didn't receive in the mailbox of the
receipient.
The specific domain is from our ISP. They told us that the problem is "bare
LFs in SMTP"...
We didn't receive any return-mails.... (so we think the mail was delivered
successfully, but there isn't it so)
The receipient didn't use an spam-filter or anything else....

It's an misterioes problem I think because normaly an error-message appear
when an error occur...

Sincerely,

Herbert Utner

I would look at F-Secure, then. What happens if you disable it? Does
outgoing mail get delivered to the domain in question?

Dear Mr. Crowley,

thank you for this tip. The scanning engine was the problem. After stopping
them the mails were delivered.
