Hi All,

Early this morning Store.exe on my Exchange Server (5.5 SP2) with an IMS
crashed (the IMS then shutdown because there was no store).
Dr Watson error at c0000005 at 004ccc5e (access violation).
I have tried restarting several times: the Information Store starts ok, but
as soon as I start the IMS, store crashes.

I have tried the following steps so far:
Restart the services.
Reboot the server.
ISINTEG - no errors, but some warnings on the mailbox option.
ESEUTIL /g - would not run.
ESEUTIL /p - on PRIV and PUB.
Reinstalled Exchange Server 5.5 SP2.

I am currently preparing to restore a backup of the Information Store - Does
anyone have any other ideas / experience to share

Go to
http://support.microsoft.com/support/c.asp?FR=0
and search for
store watson
about All products
against Full text
In the mean time with IMS stopped go to
\exchsrvr\imcdata\in and MOVE all files from there.
Delete queue.dat file in \exchsrvr\imcdata.
Start IMS.

It sounds like you have a corrupt message in your IMC MTS-IN or MTS-OUT
queue. If you have access to technet try article Q165505 which explains how
to configure a MAPI profile to see what's in these Info Store queues.
Otherwise go to the Microsoft site knowledge base site and search on;

"How to View/Delete Messages in MTS-IN and MTSOUT queues"

Good luck...

Thanks to all for your assistance - there was a message in imcdata\in - I
deleted it, and the system is now ok.
