I want to run SMTP forwarding in the DMZ.
Have it forward all incoming mail to the Exchange Server and have it forward
all outgoing mail to the internet. The Exchange Server is located behind our
Firewall (Checkpoint-1). Any infrastructure/design recomendations (including
configuration issues) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Start by choosing what software will do relay part.

A typical configuration; however you've pretty much defined what you want.
The real question is how do you want to implement it.

I'd suggest you review the Checkpoint documentation to see what they
suggest. You may find a SMTP relay server may not be necessary. Keep in
mind that a DMZ must be able to relay both inbound and outbound so a path
must exist between the two segments. How you structure the DMZ will also be
a factor.

As far as the SMTP server is concerned, you can possibly create that on the
Checkpoint server. One choice is the IIS/SMTP server.
