Is there a simple way to enable out of office replies to be sent back to
users with outside e-mail addresses. Our current setup only replies to
internal addresses...

Thanks

Travis

There is a setting in admin that allows internet out of
offices to be disabled.

Exchange admin and under configuration > Connections >
open properties of IMS Internet Mail Service > Internet
mail tab > Advanced Options > Remove check from "Disable
Out Of Office responses to the Internet"

Hope this helps.

Thanks Chad... I did a Google search too and for those that are currently
utilizing out of office replies to the outside, here's something to
consider...

Well written and as the first respondent alludes to, it may seem a little
extreme but it's hard to negate what they say.

Thanks again

I would agree with that article. I do believe MS is aware
of that issue and has made changes to exchange 2003 that
helps limit but not remove all the down falls. In 2003
the OOF checks and if your email is not specified on the
To: or Cc: line, your Out of Office message is not sent.

Thanks,
Chad
