Hello--

We deploy MS patches via WSUS. We updated the DST related patches on the
workstations and the Exchange server.

There are a few workstations, and one server that keeps reverting back to
the old time. Can anyone direct me on what to look for on this? We tried
unchecking the DST on the clock admin--no go.

Obviously the issue is affecting public calendar appointments.

Our environment is Windows Server 2003 and Exchange server 2003 with SP2.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having the exact same issue with some of our clients. With the 2000
machines I just apply the 3rd party patch again and it usually fixes it. I'm
going to look at an XP machine that has the same issue. I'll post what I
find.....

Yes, please. 3 of our clients are running XP, but one of the servers with the
issue is running Windows 2000 Server. Would you mind posting the location of
the 3rd-party patch that fixed your W2000 box?

Thanks!

Sure.

http://ftp.intelliadmin.com/DaylightSavingFix.exe

It turned out that the XP client had a problem with updates and hadn't
updated since January. I applied the XP patch manually and it fixed the time
and calendar display issues.

Rats. I tried the tool and for a time it seemed like it was going to work,
but this morning when we came in, it had reverted back to the old time.

Any other ideas are very welcome.

Look at the time on your DCs to make sure they are correct. w32time will try
to sync the times even though the client is patched. We saw this problem on
the 11th. You just need to figure out where w32time is looking to get its
time sync. Most of the time it is the DC but it can be changed.

Yes, both DC's are correct.

The 2 Win 2000 servers kept gonig back 1 hour after DST. No matter what. So I
stopped W32time until I find a solution to this mess. At least now I don't
get a ton of phone calls from the users.

hehe. That should work so long as you are not creating/viewing appointments
from/to Exchange on that server.
