Even though I select the check box asking that a mailbox be created
nothing is created. This has been an ongoing issue with our exchange
server. What I have been doing is just renaming old accounts and
deleting all the mail data essentially cleaning out and old mailbox to
give to a new user. I have run out of old accounts. Like I said this
has been an ongoing issue. When it first occurred it only happpened
sometimes. But now I am not able to create a new NT account that
creates a mailbox. I have tried creating an account without a mailbox
then trying to go through 'exchange tasks' to create the mailbox after.
It says the mailbox is created successfully but nothing is really
created. Any suggestions? Thanks

Susan

is the account stamped with an smtp address? if not, perhaps it's the RUS
malfunctioning...

This is normal exchange does not create the mail box until it recieves
e-mail or is opened by the user when they setup outlook.

When you create the account make sure it has an SMTP address created under
the exchange addresses tab. once that is done send it an e-mail or connect
to it with outlook. In most cases it will work.

If this does not work then there may be deeper problems.
