Hi

I want to apply conditional formatting on a pivot table column (date type
column). To do that I select all values from the column (by hovering over
column heading, black arrow pointing down) and select to apply red
background for all dates before =Today(). It works fine till the data is
refreshed when pivot table resizes. The formatting is fixed to cells - not
pivot table values.

How should I apply the conditional formatting so when the pivot table is
refreshed it is applied to new values?

Kind regards
IgorM

Excel 2007
Has option to select to which part of the PT CF applies.
Dynamically adjusts to data and size.
See example:

Thanks for response

I might be wrong on this but it looks like the 'dynamic' conditional
formatting can only be applied to the Values section of PT and not
column/row labels.
So, in other words, it will only be dynamic if the data is placed in Value
section of the pivot table.

Regards
Igor

When you first create the new rule after selecting the column via the
'black down arrow', note what it says at the top of the dialogue box.
It should say "applies to" and show a range of cells. If you leave this,
that is what you get. Under that you can instead select to apply it to
all the data values in that column.
I suspect this is what you are after.

Hope this helps
