I want to copy fom an acrobat document to a worksheet.
example:
4NE 33-01 D4 Linet Berendina H. 1 09-01-1900
3NE 29-07 D4 Pape J. 1 10-01-1900

the 1st and sec row, sec col is what the question is about.

when i paste it the 29-07 changes to 29 jul.
But then when i change the cell properties to text it changes to
40023 :s

is there a way to avoid this from happening?

thanks,

Jos

Format the columns and rows to Text format before copying.

If that doesn't work, copy into NotePad first, save that as a *.txt file
then open with Excel.

The Text Import Wizard will pop up allowing you to set the format of the
data.

I tried both options, the notepad options would work but in some cases
there are one or more colums which are empty and the wizard shifts the cells
to the left.
what i did now is export from acrobat to html, the copy from firefox to
excel.
the result is the same, so its still no good.
I also tried to export it to xml but that just takes a long time and the
result is
for each col i get a filter and whatever i filter the result is nothing.

Hi,

Try pasting it into Word first - it may go in as a table, then copy the
table into Excel. I can't test your data so I can't really tell.

For some reason it only copies the first page, the paste is good though.
Tried the same paste into excel and seems good too, but only the first page.
I did 'copy as table' and selected all text

Ok, after trying for a few hours, i'm starting to think that it can't be
done.
When paste it into word it looks good, then again copy and paste into excel
it messes everything up again.
If someone is willing to try then i can send a link where you can download
the original file.
You can use my email.

Meanwhile I go and see if open office can do the job.

thanks,

Jos
