the 1st and sec row, sec col is what the question is about.
when i paste it the 29-07 changes to 29 jul.
But then when i change the cell properties to text it changes to
40023 :s
is there a way to avoid this from happening?

If that doesn't work, copy into NotePad first, save that as a *.txt file
then open with Excel.
The Text Import Wizard will pop up allowing you to set the format of the
data.

Try pasting it into Word first - it may go in as a table, then copy the
table into Excel. I can't test your data so I can't really tell.
