I am interested in setting up a spreadsheet that can
schedule projects (I am a homebuilder).
What I am interested in doing is setting up a template
where I can type in the start date of the project and
length (in days) of each segment and then being able to
have excel fill in start and end dates. Is this possible?
If so, I would really appreciate some guidance. Thank you
for any help.

Thanks

There's of course a lot more to it than your simplistic
description........for instance, one must also consider order of sequence,
priorities, critical-path, what to do if dates are missed, etc
etc..........Have you considered the Microsoft Project software
program?........otherwise, you might check into some Gantt Chart templates
and/or Add-ins for Excel..........

Enter the start date. Right-click and drag the lower right of the cell. Drag
over some cells and release. Choose Series and enter a Stop date and you'll
see how it works.

Hi dtaylor!

Try:

John Walkenbach:

John has a downloadable Timeline Chart that shows one way you can do
it fairly easily.
