Can anyone help me with this problem?
I wish to show the contents of one cell in another.
Presume I want to show the contents of cell A1 "5.0m x
5.6m" in cell B1. Usually I just type in cell B1 "=A1" and
the text "5.0m x 5.6m" appears in B1. However in a
spreadsheet I am working in at present, B1 shows the
formula "=A1" What format do I need to impose on cell B1
to show "5.0m x 5.6m"

Thanks in advance

Hi Richard!

Sounds like one of two problems:

Either:
B1 is formatted as text.
Solution:
Change the format and then re-enter your formula

Or:
Your have accidentally triggered:
Tools > Options > [View Tab]
Formulas is checked
Solution:
Reverse the Tools operation or use the shortcut:
Ctrl + ` [that's on key to left of 1 on most keyboards]

Try pressing

Ctrl + "~"

Pressing this alternate between showing formula or their
values.
