how do i embed an editable word document into excel 2007?

Someone sent me an excel worksheet that includes several sections that are
embeded word documents. When I click on the embeded word section, I can edit
and it behaves just like word. it is not contained to a specific cell or
merged cells.

I when i asked this person how he did this he said he thought he just used
cut and paste. That does not work because the word section is simply pasted
into an excel cell or mergered cell.

From Insert>Object>Create from file>Browse> do you mean 'Link to file' or the
other option 'Display as Icon'
