A4 in US letter without re-formating?

I generate reports for US and German managment. How can I format my
page once so it will fit A4 and US letter size? Even if I use "size to
fit" colums get shifted from one page to another.

You don't specify what happens when you print an A4-formatted sheet on 8
1/2 by 11 paper or the reverse, but it sounds like you are running off the
page in one size or another.

Here's what I'd do: format everything for the smaller paper, A4. In Page
Setup, Margins tab, check one or both of "Center on page" horizontally or
vertically. Then, on the letter size paper, you will simply have larger
amounts of white space around the active cells.
