Excel is printing only about a half page after upgrade to
Win2k professional. I was using Excel 2000 w/ WIN98 and
printing to Lexmark Z42 just fine. After upgrade
(actually, I reformatted and reloaded everything clean) to
Win2k pro, an Excel spreadsheet that existed prior is now
only printing on half the page, it starts printing the
left column in about the middle of the page in landscape.
Other apps (word, email, etc.) are printing just fine.
Only some Excel spreadsheets are having the problem. Any
ideas?

Thanks for any help!

I am having a similar problem .... I have one workbook
that has three worksheets, all formatted the same. Two of
the worksheets print fine, all lines print as shown in
print preview. One worksheet, which has multiple pages,
does not print as shown. Sheet size 8-1/2 x 14, landscape
mode, last 5", I only get a partial print on lines. If
you find the answer to your problem please let me know.
Thanks.

THE FIX:
At work we use server-supplied printer drivers and something was funny
with Excel 2k. They wouldn't work right, as you describe below.

First, you can try changing the printer driver. But that won't work in
Windows 2k, where you are printing to a network printer. Here's what we
did (in Windows 2k):
1. Start the Add Printer wizard from your printers folder.
2. Make it a LOCAL PRINTER. (Do not auto-detect)
3. Select Create New Port and Standard TCP/IP Port as the Type.
4. Type in the IP Address of the printer you are going to use.
5. Choose a generic printer driver. E.g. We used the HP LaserJet III
driver for our HP 5si printer.
6. Don't share.

Worked for us. Turns out the Print Preview function uses the printer
driver to develop the preview.

Hope this helped.
