I sent a workbook to a customer a while back. It wasn't large (470K) and the
only code was a couple of print range macros. A couple of weeks ago he asked
me modify a few formulas. Now he claims it takes 12 seconds to open the
file and it also saves slowly. I don't have the same problem. My file opens
in less than a second. He said the file is on his local hard drive and Excel
is open (with macro protection off) when the tries to open the file. I sent
him a new copy and he has the same problem. I am puzzled. Can anyone shed
some light on why this is happening?

Thanks

Steve

One thing that may help:

tell him to clean up his windows Temp folder.

If the customer is using xl2002, you can search google for "slow saves excel
2002" and find a few hits.

You may want to take a look at these two sites
(Charles Williams and David McRitchie):

http://www.decisionmodels.com
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/slowresp.htm

They have some tips for working with slow workbooks.
