The back slash has become "multiply" and the star has become "divide". In
other words, these two symbols are reversed. Have no idea how this happened.
How can it be reversed back to normal? thanks.

How do they look on your keyboard? Has someone swapped them round for you?
On the keyboard numeric pad the divide is to the left of the multiply.
