When loading files generated in Excel 2003, I get R6025 error and then the
application fails. Any suggestion?

Bob, I too am having the same trouble. I've also found that even when I can
get the recovery tool to work, then save the spreadsheet in the new format, I
continue to get the R6025 error message when I try opening the file again.
Have you been able to resolve the problem?

Bob if you are still needing a fix for this, I found the following directions
in an earlier post.

If you receive this error:
"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtine Library"
"Runtime Error!"
"Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\EXCEL.EXE"
"R6025"
"- pure virtual function call"

Then you must do this:
Start > Run : regedit (then click OK)
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\RCMSOExt.Connect
There, i opened "LoadBehavior" and changed the Value Data from 3 to "1". I
click
on Ok, re-ran Excel and now its working fine.

If you need me to go into more detail on how i did this, let me know and i
can do the breakdown.

My problem was in my Ring Central registry. Hope this helps.

You and the previous contributor are my heros ... it works like a charm now.
I am sure the ordinary user will find this response a bit overwhelming ...
being able to load Excel files is fundamental.
Thanks again.

I wish I had seen this yesterday before I started trying to uninstall and
reinstall MS Office 2007 Home and Student. I was having this problem (I
also have ring central installed), so thought I would uninstall and
reinstall. Well now I can't reinstall cuz it is a trial, and the software is
not available for purchase yet, so I have a whole lot of files I cannot open.

Thank you for that information. I just posted a message asking for help after
looking all day for a fix to this problem I was having. I have Ring Central
as well. I do not know how the Registry thing works, but will this change I
made cause any problems in receiving or sending faxes through Ring Central
after the change from 3 to 1 is made? I have no idea what I just did when
following your instructions other than it did fix my problem asap, but was
worried if Ring Central would still work correctly or not. Anyway I guess it
does not matter unless someone just wants to reply. I will find out about
Ring Central sooner or later. I don't know anything about the inner workings
of the computer so I was kind of scared to change anything, but so wanted
this problem fixed as I have lost a whole day of work over it. Thank you for
posting the info for all to see.

Hi,

Have you fixed your problem? If not, you can try a popular Excel file
recovery tool called Advanced Excel Repair to repair your Excel file.
It is a powerful tool to repair corrupt or damaged Excel files.

Detailed information about Advanced Excel Repair can be found at
http://www.datanumen.com/aer/

And you can also download a free demo version at http://www.datanumen.com/aer/aer.exe

Hope this will help.
