Help! Recurring Excel.exe Access Violation.

Hi, I am running Excel 97 on NT Workstation 4.0 SP3. I keep getting the
following error when I try to open Excel.

An application error has occured
and an application error log is being generated.
EXCEL.exe
Exception: access violation (0xc0000005),Address: ox30036678
When I go to application log to see error there is not one in the log.
Please help. Any input would greatly be appreciated.
