Hi guys!

Im making a lot of charts from an excel DB and i need to
know that the colors i choose are the the ouput colors
(RGB is not the used color model for this, CMYK is!), and
some times i need to put some Direct colors (pantone) in
the graphs so when i print the graph it uses less colors
and i pay less money for it!!!!

How can i do this in Excell??? It has to be automatic,
since im making around 1000 charts each time!

Thanks a lot!

Hey SpeeD -

Excel's color system is kind of rudimentary. Excel has a 56-color
palette, the colors of which you can adjust, but only with the RGB
model. Eight of the palette colors are designated as defaults for line
chart series colors, and eight more for series fills on bar/column/area
charts. David McRitchie has a detailed description of Excel's color
capability and how to work with it:

http://mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/colors.htm

If you know the RGB equivalent to the CMYK or Pantone colors, you can
create a custom palette that uses them (up to 56 of them, anyway). In
addition to defining default chart colors, you can create custom chart
types you can use as templates, thus preserving whatever coloring scheme
you come up with.
