In the Charting toolbar, there's a dropdown that lists the elements in
the chart. Scroll down until you can select the trendline listed, then
press the Delete key.

That's certainly the right way to do it but, if you are lazy or don't have
the charting toolbar visible, it's usually quite easy to pick out a
background colored trendline by looking for gaps in other lines on the
chart. A right click once the trendline box appears will send you in the
right direction. I'm speaking from sad experience when I accidentally picked
the wrong color for a trendline :-)

You could always change the color of the background, then, and find your
trendline. Fortunately the Format Trendline dialog does not permit
"None" for line type.
