In Excel 2003, I was able to drag individual xy scatter point data to a new
position on the actual graph. This was a great feature when one wanted to
move
data to get them to coalesce with a scanned curve that had been included in
the graph background. I am not able to do this in Excel 2007. Does anybody
know if this feature is available in Excel 2007?

No. It isn't.

Another great feature that seems to be missing is the ability to
select a data set in a workbook and drag it to an existing chart.
Does anyone know if this feature is still available?

Seems like Microsoft missed the boat on this one.

Hi,

No, if you drag and drop cells on to a chart the cells simple get moved
within the sheet. The new chart object does not capture the dropping of
cells on to it.
You can copy and paste still though.

Cheers

That is really disappointing, one of my most used worksheets took advantage
of that capapbility, without it my worksheet is useless and I will have to
spend time adjusting the two cells until I get the point where I need it.

I'm only demoing 07 right now, I might have to stick with XP unless they
come up with an add on with this feature.

Does anyone know if Microsoft has meanwhile created some add-in to enable the
dragging of individual points on a Excel 2007 graph ??
I just can't understand why this VERY useful capability was removed from
Excel 2007 !

Microsoft decided for whatever reason that this capability was not
important, so it was removed. It is therefore unlikely that Microsoft would
issue an add-in to recreate this capability, and in fact, they have issued
no such add-in. Perhaps they have heard the outcry and will revive the
feature for the next version of Excel.

I am working on a utility which will work much the same as the original
feature did, but it's still on the drawing board.

I fully agree this was agreat feature for fitting areas or tracing
perfomance. Quite frnakly if I had known this option was not available I
would not have purchased and stuck with the 2002 version of excel.
