i have made some graphs in excel. when i cut and paste
into word, i get a truncated y axix (ie. "amoun" instead of
"amount". if i expand the graph page in word, then the
graph will run off the page by the time i get it large
enough. i am unable to enlarge the y axis text box in exel.
any help would be appreciated on how to expand this y axis
lable capability

I remember this very thing vaguely from quite a while back. Try different
fonts.

Exporting Excel charts to other programs works best if you do as much
formatting and sizing in Excel, before copying and pasting. If you have to
adjust the size of a chart by more than around 10%, things like truncated
labels will become more problematic.

Sometimes the stupid chart or axis titles insist on truncating or
line-breaking no matter how much you plead with Excel. In this case, I add a
text box to the chart where the title belongs, and remove the official title.
Text boxes are much more flexible in terms of user interaction than built in
titles.
