Windows XP y entrada ALEXA (Ad-aware)

Esto me arroja el Ad-aware, recién instalado Windows XP Pro y ningún
programa más.

Lavasoft Ad-aware 5.83
Componentes Spywares detectados
Tipo: (iconito del regedit) K
Sistema: Alexa
Detalles: software\microsoft\internet
explorer\extensions\{c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a}

¿Por qué hay una entrada al spyware de Alexa en Windows XP?
¿Se puede eliminar o es necesario que esté?
¿Qué hace?

El que el Alexa sea un spyware.... siempre ha sido una noticia de muy dudosa procedencia.

Microsoft lo instala desde el IE5 en adelante. Y por supuesto el SP1 lo instala. Y el eliminarlo tiene malas consecuencias en ciertas caracteristicas del IE.

Alexa key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\internet
explorer\extensions\{c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a}\ is the "Whats
related links" feature on your Internet Explorer toolbar. It's not a big
deal, if you use it don't delete it. You can add it to the Ignore list if
you want to keep it.
Alexa technology does use a 'web crawler' (bot) that records the information
found on webpages accessed when the 'Whats related feature' is being used in
Internet Explorer, records URL's visited, and some information put into
online forms.

To choose to delete/backup/ or place an item in the ignore list, be sure
these options are selected;
Open Ad-aware,
Click 'Configuration',
Select the 'options' tab,
Check 'Safe mode (always ask confirmation)',
Check 'Autosave logfile',
And that this option is NOT selected;
'Remove components automatically'
Click 'Proceed'.

Scan with Ad-aware,

When the scan is complete; select 'Continue'
A list of detected items will be in the view window
(always do the 'Ignore' list items 1st)
1st: Select any items from the list that you want to 'Ignore',
Click 'Exclude' to add to the 'Ignore list',
Right click in the Ad-aware window,
Select 'check all' items,
Click 'Backup' to backup all remaining files,
When finished, click 'Continue',
'Continue' will delete any remaining items.

No todos los IE lo llevan? yo tengo el IE 6.0 y nada, el adware no lo
detecta, o si es del WinXp, pues sera exclusivo del Pro, por que en Home
tampoco tiene o no lo detecta el adware.
