Lista de Errores de ODBC Providers...

Buenas...
ALguno de ustedes sabe donde puedo obtener una lista completa de errores que
envian o regresan los DBMS?...
Ya he buscado en la KB de MSN y el help del VS, sin embargo no me ha sido
suficiente, puesto que solo me refieren a errores de coneccion, etc etc...
Lo que necesito es saber si hay algun estandar para que los diferentes
motores regresen algun codigo de error cuando una operacion INSERT, DELETE,
etc ya que quiero validar el error y presentar mensajes...
Lo que pasa es que hasta ahorita no he podido utilizar una "base de datos"
para atrapar errores, puesto que Sybase me manda un codigo, SQL Server otro,
etc etc... alguna idea de como hacerlo?...

puedes bajar con el susodicho sdk... Pero a pesar de ello hay muchos errors
de los que se producen que no estan aparentemenete documentados... solo se
enumeran los más comunes y relevantes...

producido... no necesitas llamar directamente al del objeto ado sea la
conexion o el registro..
Podrias ser especifico en cual es tu preocupación a este respecto de los
errores?

El VB te indica el error pero la colección errors del ADO devuelve los
errores generados por el servidor (Clave duplicada, error de sintaxis, error
en la conversión de datos, etc).

Genere una aplicacion que se puede conectar a diferentes gestores de base de
datos, sin embargo, los codigos de errores que me envia cada gestor son
diferentes, por lo que ando buscando algun dato que sea el mismo y poder
manipular los mensajes que se le enviaran al usuario, por poner un ejemplo:
En SQL Server cuando no puede insertar un registro por problemas de llave
primaria me manda el error 5000 (el codigo lo estoy inventando) y
en Sybase me manda el error 8000 (tambien inventado, porque no los tengo a
la mano)
La pregunta mas concreta es, hay alguna manera de saber que el error 5000 en
SQL Server es el mismo que el 8000 de Sybase???...

En este caso que planteas tendras que usar las definiciones particulares de
errores de cada proveedor..
Eso si, ciertas cosas como los indices duplicados y cosas asi, deberias
anticiparlas en vez de esperar a que el proveedor te levante un error,
proque habra casos en que te puede fallar ese metodo de detección o tendras
que complementarlo con el otro...
