Vista Publisher 2007 writes corrupted .pdf files

Vista with Publisher 2007 used to work fine writing (i.e. Saving) .pdf
files.
Now the .pdf files are corrupted and nobody can open them.
"Printing" with CutePDF works fine but the user wants this fixed.

Are there any suggestions.

Office 2007 has been deleted and reinstalled more than once to no avail.
