I just installed Encarta 2006 (part of teh Works 2006 Suite), and I updated
it. I don't recall the exact amount, but the udpate was at least 10 megs,
and may have been up to 30 or so. I know that in the next few months,
Encarta will be going out of business. I am wondering--I'd like to make a
copy of these updates, so that if I ever get another computer, I can install
Encarta on the new one, along with the updates. Where can I find the
updates? I looked in the program files folder, but the Encarta folder had
plenty of files.

Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Encarta
Reference Library\2009\A\Updates

That's what my system shows. I would guess yours replaces the 2009 with
2006.

Thanks, but I'm using Vista. I did look in the following folder, which
seems most synonymous with the one you gave me:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Encarta Reference Library. But
there was no folder in there that was a year, or that had a sub-directory
named "Updates."

For Vista, try to look for c:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Encarta Reference
Library\

However, my problem is that my update didn't finished after downloading just
2 items. It says 'could not retrieve content....'
Does anyone here have solution to this?
