I'm very disappointed Microsoft has decided to discontinue Encarta. Perhaps
there are better apps to find and use on the Internet but I have liked using
it for the last several years now. On the other hand Microsoft seems to be
unwilling to fix its update problems which may or may not relate to Vista
64-bit...but on the other hand they are unwilling to fix Vista too and
instead push the whole world to Windows 7.

I agree. I used Encarta for years myself. I use Wikipedia and more
legitimate sources now. Bummer.

It's real a shame for Microsoft. About the failing update the support
center in Italy wrote me I should uninstall all the Microsoft .NET
Framework updates I downloaded by Windows Update site and hope that
doing so Encarta would success doing the autoupdate service.
Do you find it logical?
I think it's crazy!
I will give up with Encarta.
