Virtual Globe 98 on XP error message - help?

When I installed my Vglobe 98 on my XP machine, it replied that the
installation was complete, but, when I restart my PC and try to run
Vglobe, I get the following error:

File Error: Encarta Virtual GLobe is unable to continue running on
your
computer. Your network based installation is unavailable at this
time.
OK

Can anyone suggest something I can do to get past this? I installed
it from an image of the CD that I copied onto my harddrive. I have
installed VGLOBE 98 this way (a copied image on the H/D) on many PC's
before, always without any problems. I uninstalled it and re-
installed multiple times now and I always get the same result. Please
help.
