Default magnifier in XP/Vista

Just a comment -- most users will never need the magnifier and many who do
will end up buying (or having a disability service buy for them) a full
function magnifier like ZoomText or MAGic. Could the default magnifier be
altered to fill in a lower niche?
If you can, fire up a MacOSX machine and turn on the Zoom feature. Instead
of placing the magnifier on a part of the screen and leaving the rest normal
(a useful feature if you have a wide format monitor!), Zoom does a full
deskotp magnification with desktop panning. Long ago, this feature was built
into some video drivers but has fallen out of use. The full screen panning
does not need advanced font smoothing, leave that for the higher end
commercial programs. This would make Windows far more accessible to some
users who may need magnification, but not all the features in a commercial
application.
