I am trying to process inventory transactions via eConnect. Increaes in
inventory process fine, but decreases do not. You can not use a negative
number for the transaction quantity, you indicate whether the adjustment is
an increase/decrease in the ADJTYPE field of taTransactionMultiBinInsert.
However it still increases inventory rahter than decrease. What am I missing
here?

Hi,

I have developed an eConnect inventory transaction integration that
imports negative numbers for decrease adjustments. It works fine.

Why do you say that you cannot use a negative number for transaction
quantity? Are you receiving a specific error?

What version of GP / eConnect are you using?

Thanks,

Hi,

I see, thanks for the additional info. My integration is not using
bins. Let me test with a bin item and see what results I get.

Thanks,

Hi,

I haven't modified my eConnect integration, but instead I just tested
this in the GP user interface with TWO and believe that you should be
sending a positive value to the TransactionMultiBinInsert node.

When the transaction is entered manually in GP, the Inventory
Adjustment line quantity is negative, but when you select the bin and
quantity on the Bin Quantity Entry window, you can only enter positive
numbers.

It is definitely inconsistent and not the greatest design (negative
extended quantity, but positive selected quantity), but it does appear
to properly decrement the bin quantity.

If you send a negative value for the adjustment line quantity, but a
positive value for the bin quantity, does eConnect import that without
errors and bring the transaction in properly?

Thanks,

Steve,

Thanks, you are right on target. I added a second quantity field. The
first is TRXQTY for taIVTransactiobLineInsert, the second is QUANTITY for
taIVTransactionMultiBinInsert. TRXQTY accepts the negative quantity, the BIN
level quanity must be positive.

Thx so much!!
