USB Window 2003 SBS issue

I have posted a similar question a few months back but did not get an answer.
I am running a SBS 2003 box and backing up to USB Sata Hard drives. I have
7 of them and at first all of them worked fine. One day I plugged in one of
the drive and it sever almost froze so I unplugged the drive and the server
returned to normal. Now when I plug in that drive nothing happens on the SBS
2003 box. I can plug into a Winxp box and it works with out a problem. I
plug it back in to the server and nothing happens. I have tried reformatting
the drive on the xp box but the 2003 box still will not recognize it. now it
has happen to 3 of the 7 drives. How can I troubleshoot this? I have tried
uninstalling in the USB drivers booting the server w/ the drive plugged in
etc…
