Hello!
Since wireless connections are basically supportet in the NF 4.0 we are
considering to write a driver for a SPI WLAN Module.
So far i have only found the "Adding 802.11 Support" section in RCLPort.chm.
Is there more detailed information available about wireless interfaces and
related events?
We thought about starting with the enc28j60 driver sample and adapt it to
our needs since it is quite well documented. Is there a better approach that
i have missed?
I need to keep hardware costs at a minimum so the GHI embedded master module
is sadly not an option.

thanks a lot, martin

Martin,

I believe an 802.11 example was on the wishlist for v4.0, but not sure if it
made final cut. From what I understand, implementing 802.11 support is the
same as any other ethernet driver. Except that you have a little more config
data in network config section. Starting from enc28j60 makes sense.

The 802.11 support is in fact no different than the support for any other
Ethernet driver. I suggest using a HAL_COMPLETION to handle the initial
authetication exchange and then a continuation for the IP data thereafter.
We do provide configuration data already in the network interface that are
acessible from MFdeploy (and therefore customizable for the user), the PAL,
and the managed application through the
NetworkInterface.GetAllNetworkInterfaces method.

We have not current plan for 802.11 in the very next version.

Regards
Lorenzo
